Job Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Genetic Counsellor to join our team in the Kids Cancer Centre.
The successful applicant will provide genetic counselling and education of clients, triaging of referrals, organisation of clinics, education of health professionals and the community, and promotion of the centre.
The Genetic Counsellor will also contribute to research in the field of paediatric cancer genetics, including genomic sequencing studies for childhood cancer.
About the Role
- Provide professional level service whilst working under supervision in the Kids Cancer Genetics Clinic.
- Exercise professional judgement commensurate with years of experience.
- Participate in quality and workplace education, and commit to ongoing professional development.
- Have computer literacy with experience in MS Office, databases, presentation, and pedigree drawing software.
Requirements
- A postgraduate qualification in genetic counselling or attainment of Board Eligible status to undertake certification from the Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA).
