Aboriginal Family Support Specialist

Job Opportunity: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Aboriginal Child Protection Caseworker to join our team in South Western Sydney. The successful candidate will work with families and communities to ensure the safety, welfare, and well-being of children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with parents, family members, children, or young people to identify and address safety and wellbeing concerns.
- Develop and implement strategies for protection, conduct risk assessments, and manage complex cases.
- Participate in court processes, including preparing documentation and attending hearings.
- Engage in individual and group supervision sessions to maintain expertise and share best practices.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to case management and analysis.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A relevant diploma or degree is preferred; however, two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and families is acceptable if lacking formal qualifications.
- Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with families and community members.
- A valid driver's license and paid clearance number are required.
- Documented verification of Aboriginality confirming your Aboriginal descent and self-identification is essential.
