Environmental Protection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Protection Specialist to join our team at the EPA.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of environmental regulators who work to protect the environment and people from harm through the management of licensed premises and investigation of environmental incidents and complaints.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with experience in the implementation of relevant environmental legislation, managing staff and setting priorities, and liaising with client or stakeholder groups to deliver environmentally sustainable outcomes.

About You:

  • A deep understanding of the principles of environmental protection and the ability to apply this knowledge in a real-world context.
  • Experience in a relevant environmental management area, such as catchments, industry, hazardous substances, contaminated site management, planning, and/or local government.
  • A sound understanding of the workings of government at a state and local level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaison with a range of client or stakeholder groups.
  • Experience in managing staff and setting priorities.

As an Environmental Protection Specialist, you will be working in a supportive, diverse, results-driven team who work across varied geographic areas across Sydney, Central Coast, and Newcastle on significant environmental protection matters.
