A Hydraulic Choke Operator plays a pivotal role in various facets of oil and gas fracturing operations, including drill out, flowback, well testing, and rig up/rig down services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tearing apart and rebuilding hydraulic chokes used in the field as well as operating this equipment from a command center.
  • Diagnosing, repairing, and troubleshooting malfunctions of well testing equipment, ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Performing data entry and generating field reports using basic computer knowledge, maintaining accurate records and adherence to guidelines.
Field Work
  • Rigging up a portable separator and heater, adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Maintaining and repairing hydraulic choke equipment during coiled tubing washes, frac flowback, and other high-pressure operations.
  • Operating hydraulic choke controls within safe parameters of designated equipment, optimizing performance and efficiency.
  • Maintaining and repairing all components of high-pressure operation, including flowline/connections, hydraulic choke manifolds, sand separators, test separators, flare stacks, gas busters, and safety systems.
Shop Work
  • Loading and unloading field work equipment weighing up to 70 lbs, demonstrating physical stamina and endurance.
  • Lifting items and fittings weighing up to 30 lbs, showcasing strength and agility.
  • Occasionally lifting weights up to 70 lbs, highlighting ability to adapt to varying task demands.
  • Washing any and all FESCO equipment, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Cleaning and sweeping shop, promoting a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Turning around equipment for the next job, streamlining workflow and enhancing productivity.
Safety
  • Passing a DOT physical and securing/maintaining at least a Class B CDL with an H endorsement, prioritizing road safety and compliance.
  • Working in all types of weather conditions, adapting to dynamic environmental factors.
  • Working in a toxic environment while wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus, emphasizing commitment to health and safety.
  • Working at remote well locations, navigating challenging terrain and conditions.
  • Evacuating a fellow employee in case of an emergency, exemplifying teamwork and crisis management skills.
