Senior Accountant Role

This role is responsible for providing expert financial advice to clients and delivering accurate financial outcomes.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be accountable for preparing financial reports, tax returns, and administering GST. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior staff and lead projects, leveraging your passion for making a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with supervisors, managers, and partners to provide high-quality professional services to a diverse client base.
  • Contribute to the training and development of junior staff.
  • Lead projects and manage clients, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Prepare financial reports/statements, and supporting schedules;
  • Prepare Tax Returns for individuals, companies, trust and partnerships;
  • Support virtual CFO engagements and other advisory work as required;
  • Administer GST, including Business Activity Statements;
  • Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required; and
  • Conduct studies and analysis of financial matters as required.
Requirements
  • Proactive and Independent: Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work autonomously to meet deadlines.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in MYOB/Xero and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent Communicator: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience: 3-4 years of experience in public practice, specialising in tax and business services.
  • Qualifications: Completed or near completion of CA/CPA certification.
