Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior In-House Counsel to provide expert legal advice and support our business operations. This role will involve delivering accurate, high-quality advice that supports our objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal input across various projects, delivering timely and actionable advice that aligns with our business needs.
  • Maintain a high standard of technical expertise, consistently meeting deadlines and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex legal matters clearly and accessibly, ensuring all documentation is accurate and aligned with our standards.
  • Deliver precise legal advice with clear recommendations, highlighting areas of uncertainty and ensuring risks are fully understood.
  • Balance excellence with pragmatism by identifying and managing deviations from our benchmarks during project execution.
  • Engage and oversee external counsel, managing costs effectively.
Requirements
  • Qualified lawyer with 6-8 years of relevant post-admission experience.
  • Current practicing certificate in an Australian jurisdiction.
  • Proven experience in-house, preferably in construction law.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate on behalf of a head contractor.
  • Strong background in construction law, contracts, and commercial disputes.
  • Ability to provide clear, pragmatic, and solution-focused advice in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels.
