Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to join our in-house legal team as Senior Legal Counsel. The successful candidate will report directly to the General Counsel and partner with the business to provide expert legal advice on regulatory matters affecting the day-to-day operations of the organization.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a true hybrid worker who can balance work from home and our office setting. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality legal advice across key areas including water, property, construction, procurement, environment, freedom of information, and privacy law.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional legal services across multiple domains.
  • Act as the Privacy and FOI Officer, ensuring timely and compliant handling of requests.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
  • Advise on and manage legal disputes and litigation.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of legal team operations and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and admission as a legal practitioner in Australia with post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in the water industry or public sector considered an asset.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
