Role Overview

The Life Coverage Consultant plays a pivotal role in offering telephonic guidance and information to medical professionals seeking Life Insurance solutions. This position involves supporting clients through the quoting, application, and underwriting processes while collaborating with Business Development Managers from leading insurance providers. The consultant will facilitate comparison quotes and assist in fulfilling sales through our proprietary Life Insurance Selection Tool (LIST). Additionally, this role encompasses administrative responsibilities for Avant Life's existing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects, enhancing awareness and nurturing leads to provide comprehensive coverage for our members.
  • Differentiate our Factual Comparison products within a specialized market.
  • Engage time-constrained professionals on topics beyond their clinical practice.

Accountabilities Include:

  • Handling inbound and follow-up calls with professionalism while delivering expert product knowledge.
  • Assessing customer needs and determining when to refer to a Risk Specialist for personalized advice.
  • Managing the insurance quote and application process for members, ensuring compliance and administration of Avant Life Insurance policies.
  • Achieving individual sales targets and enhancing Avant Life Insurance's market presence through collaborative team efforts.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Education:
• Background in Life Insurance or Financial Services is desirable.
• FSR Tier 1 accreditation (Life Insurance and Superannuation RG146).

Skills:
• Exceptional relationship-building and negotiation abilities.
• Strong business development acumen.
• Strategic and analytical thinking capabilities.
• Familiarity with the medical industry or Life Insurance market is advantageous.
• Comprehensive product knowledge and business insight.
• Proven experience in direct sales.
• Ability to cultivate business networks that drive growth.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in stakeholder management.

Experience:
• Demonstrated sales experience with a successful track record, preferably in a medical or life insurance context.
• In-depth knowledge of the finance sector.
• Experience in membership services, ideally within a medical indemnity or insurance framework.
• Background in communication management, preferably in pharmaceutical, professional, or financial services settings.
