About the Opportunity

This is a senior leadership role that offers a unique opportunity to lead and shape Foster and Kinship Care Services, guiding a dedicated team to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care for children and young people aged 0-18.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Foster & Kinship Care Services, ensuring alignment with service contracts and best practices within the NSW sector.
  • Mentor and guide service managers and coordinators, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement through regular reflective supervision.
  • Build strong relationships with government agencies, consortium partners, and Aboriginal-controlled agencies to ensure the delivery of culturally safe and integrated services.
  • Oversee financial management, compliance, and quality assurance across all service sites, ensuring services meet and exceed legislative requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Lead the commitment to providing culturally safe and respectful services, particularly for Aboriginal children and their families, and champion the Sanctuary Model of care.
  • Provide oversight and strategic leadership of Carer Services, including recruitment strategies and continuous carer support.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in human services or a related field is essential; a post-graduate qualification is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience leading human services programs, strongly focusing on trauma-informed care, and supporting children with complex needs.
  • High-level strategic planning, financial management, compliance oversight, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • In-depth understanding of trauma, attachment, child development theories, and the NSW Children and Young Persons.
