Role Overview:

This role is integral to the delivery and execution of our equity, diversity and inclusion strategy 2023-2027, and the UNSW Strategy: Progress for All. The Community Engagement Coordinator coordinates activities targeted at underrepresented cohorts in the engineering sector.

  • Coordinate and implement community engagement initiatives and activities aimed at boosting participation from underrepresented groups in engineering.
  • Establish and manage strategic partnerships within the university and externally with relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee development and implementation of project plans and schedules.
  • Monitor, track and report on project deliverables.
  • Provide consultative advice and strategic guidance on attracting and retaining students from underrepresented cohorts.

Responsibilities: This position involves event coordination, knowledge translation, marketing, implementation of student and community engagement initiatives, and development of internal and external relationships.

Key Skills and Qualifications: A relevant tertiary qualification with extensive experience or equivalent competence, preferably within higher education or working with underrepresented groups. Demonstrated expertise in fostering student engagement and crafting programs aimed at building community.
