We are seeking a commercially driven Data Insights Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on day-to-day ownership of regulatory performance reporting and timely submission, including aligning key business processes and utilising the reporting framework to deliver data-driven insights and improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Retail and wholesale reporting, including preparation, compilation and timely submission of reports in line with regulator guidelines.
  • Quality assurance, validation of data and reports for state government departments.
  • Responding to regulators and government department data requests and queries.
  • Preparing internal reports, including monthly management reporting and maintenance of reporting schedule.
  • Quality assurance, variance and trend analysis of reported data.
  • Maintaining and enhancing existing reporting tools and documentation and identifying opportunities for improvement and optimisation.
  • Collaborating with key internal stakeholders to collect data and design and maintain reporting dashboards.
  • Collaborating with business units to embed regulatory reporting metrics into monthly management reporting framework.
  • Creating data visualisations and communicating insights to support business units in process development.
  • Using data-driven insights to identify opportunities for improvement in processes and collaborate with process owners to implement solutions.

About You

  • A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst or equivalent role within a highly regulated industry such as Energy, Utilities, Financial Services.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in a professional field, such as STEM, or accounting/finance is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability with experience in data capture tools such as Excel, Power BI reporting, SQL.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage tight deadlines and shifting priorities effectively.
  • Strong initiative and proactive mindset and ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Interest in the operation of the regulatory framework of the electricity market.
  • Ability to work as part of a close-knit team in a dynamic and growing business with a strong interest in renewable energy.
  • Understanding the basics of Energy Industry value chain is preferred.
