Senior Design Director

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Design Director to lead our national design functions, drive innovation and elevate collaboration across multiple sites.

This pivotal role will oversee design teams in Adelaide, Sydney, and Melbourne, focusing on creating alignment, building a culture of technical excellence and ensuring high-quality design projects.

The ideal candidate will shape national design direction, mentor future leaders and spearhead innovation impacting customers across Australia and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a unified national design strategy driving collaboration, best practice and continuous improvement.
  • Create and roll out a design framework that fosters alignment, accountability and strong team dynamics.
  • Mentor and inspire design leaders, developing a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
  • Oversight of design standards, tools and review processes to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Collaborate with innovation teams to integrate emerging technologies and deliver value-driven solutions.
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical discipline.
  • Strong track record in design management, preferably in machinery, automation or advanced manufacturing.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical design principles and modern engineering software.
  • Proven leadership and team development experience.
  • Able to deliver large-scale complex projects on time and within budget.
  • A passion for fostering innovation, standardisation and continuous improvement.
