Position Overview:
The Inclusion Support Specialist will be instrumental in assisting children with additional needs by exemplifying inclusive practices, overseeing funding applications, and offering insights on behavioral and inclusion strategies. This role involves close collaboration with various stakeholders, including parents, support organizations, and educators, to ensure every child receives the essential support they require. Responsibilities will encompass both administrative tasks and direct engagement, including documentation of service visits and funding actions.
Core Responsibilities:
- Inclusion and Support: Collaborate with educators to demonstrate inclusive practices, provide behavioral guidance, and ensure the timely completion of service visit documentation.
- Funding Oversight: Manage IDFM funding actions, liaise with the Victorian Inclusion Agency (VIA), and assist with funding applications to achieve maximum approval rates.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with parents, guardians, support agencies, and foster parents to discuss suitability and funding alternatives.
- Administrative Functions: Facilitate re-application processes, gather necessary documentation, and assist in the preparation of Service Improvement Plans (SIP).
- Training and Development: Participate in weekly team meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and effectively support educators.
Essential Competencies:
