Dean of Business School

We are seeking a visionary academic leader to fill the prestigious position of Dean of our esteemed Business School.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will hold a senior academic and operational leadership role, overseeing the strategic direction and growth of the Business School. This will involve collaborating with faculty members, department heads, and other stakeholders to drive innovation, enhance teaching quality, and promote research excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Academic Planning: Contribute to the development of business programs that respond to evolving industry needs and expectations.
  • Cross-Campus Integration: Foster collaboration between campus locations to ensure seamless academic integration and innovative course delivery.
  • Staff Management: Oversee academic staffing, timetabling, and workload allocation across all campuses to ensure effective teaching requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and standards, ensuring the Business School's courses meet the highest quality benchmarks.
  • Leadership Development: Mentor academic staff in research and publication, promoting a culture of scholarship within the School.
  • Partnerships and Promotions: Establish articulation pathways and academic partnerships with local and international institutions, supporting course promotion and student recruitment activities.
  • Representation and Engagement: Represent the Business School in local forums, industry panels, and recruitment events, fostering active engagement with local industries, government agencies, and professional bodies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Doctoral Qualification: A doctoral qualification (AQF Level 10) or equivalent in a business-related discipline.
  • Academic Leadership: Demonstrated experience in academic leadership at the department, faculty, or institutional level in an Australian university or private sector equivalent.
  • Teaching and Research: A strong record of achievement in teaching and research relevant to business education.
  • Knowledge of Higher Education Framework: Knowledge of Australia's higher education regulatory framework, TEQSA pronouncements, and accreditation requirements of relevant professional organisations.
