Melbourne Airport is seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing our aged trial balance debtor processing, reconciling accounts monthly, and reporting on and managing delinquent accounts.

The successful candidate will have a high level of experience working in a large corporate accounts receivable / finance environment, with a proven ability to be efficient and accurate in meeting month-end timelines. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders at all levels, are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, receipt and accurately enter all debtor payments from multiple revenue streams.
  • Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions.
  • Reconcile all debtors' ledgers to the GL system in communication with the Senior Financial Accountant.
  • Compile data and prepare a variety of reports as required.
  • Ensure the reconciliation process is completed to meet month-end timelines and report delinquent accounts monthly.
  • Proactively manage overdue accounts and follow up on all overdue accounts.
  • Report on all accounts in 60 and 90 days and escalate debtor issues to Senior Financial Accountant.
  • Recommend actions to resolve discrepancies and investigate any questionable data.
  • Assist the Treasury and Cash Management Analyst by reporting any potential or actual material bad debts or late payments to assist in cash flow management and forecasting.
  • Develop, review, document and maintain relevant accounts receivable procedures and ensure they are communicated with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attend to emails from internal staff and external customers on a daily basis.
  • Ensure all accounts receivable tasks are completed to meet the finance month end schedule.

Requirements

  • High level of experience working in a large corporate accounts receivable / finance environment.
  • Proven ability to be efficient and accurate in meeting month-end timelines, with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Naturally proactive and adaptable, you will have the ability to build customer relationships and problem solve.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
