Job Title: Capital Works Project Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Capital Works Project Manager, delivering projects across the municipality.

  • You will be responsible for defining project scope, goals and deliverables in support of business goals and in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • You will prepare contract documentation and specifications for capital works and procure, liaise and manage consultants and contractors regarding allocated Capital Works Projects.
  • You will report regularly to the relevant Coordinator Project Delivery on expenditure and progress for allocated Capital Works.
  • You will ensure all works are executed safely and meet the needs of Council's customers with minimal inconvenience or disruption to people and traffic.

About this Role:

  • You will have a tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Building, Construction, Architecture or other related disciplines.
  • You will have extensive experience within project management including design, construction and contractor management.
  • You will have solid understanding of best practice contracting and tendering processes, Australian construction standards, codes of practice and relevant legislation.
  • You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders in a complex public sector environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Defining project scope, goals and deliverables in support of business goals and in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Preparing contract documentation and specifications for capital works and procuring, liaising and managing consultants and contractors regarding allocated Capital Works Projects.
  • Reporting regularly to the relevant Coordinator Project Delivery on expenditure and progress for allocated Capital Works.
