We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Therapist to join our Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) team at Hope Community Services. As a Senior Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert therapeutic support to individuals, couples, and families affected by family and domestic violence.
Key Responsibilities- Counselling and Support: Provide individual, couples, and family counselling to clients affected by family and domestic violence, developing and implementing advanced therapeutic interventions tailored to their unique needs.
- Case Management: Manage a caseload of clients, ensuring regular follow-up and consistent support, maintaining detailed records of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Leadership and Supervision: Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and support to other staff within the FDV team, facilitating professional development opportunities and training sessions for staff.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with the FDV team, including Senior Safety Advocates, Safety Advocates, Lawyers, and other staff, to provide integrated services, liaising with external agencies to ensure holistic support for clients.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate therapeutic support and intervention in crisis situations involving clients, ensuring their safety and well-being during critical incidents.
- Education: Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years' experience providing counselling or therapeutic support to individuals, couples, and families, preferably in a family and domestic violence context.
- Skills: Strong understanding of the dynamics of family and domestic violence and its impact on individuals and families, proficiency in using evidence-based therapeutic approaches and interventions, excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
