We are currently seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team, providing technical expertise in the design and delivery of high-performing battery energy storage systems (BESS) across residential, commercial & industrial (C&I), and off-grid markets.
This role requires strong engineering skills, with experience in EPC project design, delivery, or commissioning. You will partner with sales teams and key accounts to understand customer needs and provide pre-sales technical support.
- Partner with sales teams to understand customer needs and site conditions.
- Provide technical support for EPCs and large solar installers, including feasibility studies and system design input.
- Build techno-economic models using tools such as Orkestra and Gridcog.
- Prepare BOMs, pricing analysis, SLDs, layouts, and schematics in line with CEC guidelines and Australian Standards.
- Support tender submissions with high-quality technical content and provide clarifications during evaluations.
As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure proposed solutions are viable and optimized. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly will be essential in this role.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related discipline.
- 3–5 years' experience delivering solar and/or battery projects in C&I or off-grid environments.
- Background in EPC project design, delivery, or commissioning.
- Proficiency in system modelling tools (Orkestra, Gridcog, or similar).
- Ability to design and interpret SLDs and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of grid interconnection, AS/NZS standards, CEC compliance, and battery safety.
