Job Description">

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for managing site operations at our client location. This includes ensuring secure access control, surveillance, and prompt incident response across the facility.

">Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage vehicle movement, access control, and visitor passes to ensure secure and efficient site entry.
  • Perform administrative duties including email management, required reporting, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ensure all individuals with security access have completed relevant inductions and possess approved access levels.
  • Identify and report security risks to client contacts and management.
  • Monitor Workplace Health and Safety compliance, CCTV surveillance, and respond to site alarms.
  • Maintain detailed daily logs including communications diaries, event logs, incident reports, breach records, patrol reports, readings, and alarm checks.
  • Provide perimeter security by preventing unauthorized access and identifying vulnerabilities in physical and electronic systems.
  • Respond to alarms triggered by access control, fire systems, building management systems, CCTV, and staff-reported issues.
  • Conduct surveillance and monitoring of entry gates, screening areas, site buildings, and grounds using CCTV, access control systems, and visitor management tools.
  • Manage traffic control at pedestrian and vehicle gates, intercoms, and parking areas to ensure safe and orderly movement.
  • Greet and direct drivers, employees, and contractors entering the site.
  • Follow client instructions and foster collaborative working relationships to support positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrate situational awareness and willingness to assist or intervene when necessary.
  • Operate effectively within a team environment.
  • Record vehicle movement data and conduct regular audits.
  • Verify paperwork and operate efficiently in fast-paced settings.
  • Perform site patrols and manage traffic flow.
  • Operate CCTV and access control systems.
  • Respond to emails and phone calls as received.
  • Support and promote site safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Valid VIC Security Licence.
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • Current applicable Drivers Licence.
  • Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster.
Experience and Skills
  • Minimum 2 years' demonstrated experience in a similar gatehouse or security role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain strong client relationships in service-focused settings.
  • Advanced computer skills, with proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
  • High-level report writing and presentation skills, with attention to accuracy and detail.
