Cyber Defence Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Defence Analyst to enhance our organisation's cyber defence capabilities.

This key role requires an individual with expertise in monitoring, investigating and responding to cyber threats. As a vital member of our security operations team, you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating potential risks to the business.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and assess alerts, incidents and threat intelligence outputs to inform incident response activities.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into suspicious activity, providing actionable insights to support threat hunting initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the incident response team to contain, recover from and review post-incident activities.
  • Analyse malware and vulnerabilities to develop detection and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop reports and maintain playbooks, tools and processes to improve overall efficiency.

Requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification is essential.
  • Professional certifications in SOC operations are highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in an enterprise-level cybersecurity role is necessary.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages for automating security tasks and workflows is required.
  • Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel) and EDR solutions is necessary.
  • A strong understanding of system/cloud administration, firewalls and EDR technologies is crucial.
  • Knowledge of deception technologies, YARA scanning and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks is advantageous.
