Senior Assessment Coordinator Role

Job Summary:

The Senior Assessment Coordinator is a critical position responsible for leading a team of assessors in managing financial assistance applications, providing victim recognition statements, and coordinating victim recognition meetings.

About the Job:

This role requires exceptional leadership and management skills, with a strong ability to provide advice on complex applications and make informed decisions within defined time frames.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of senior assessors and coordinators, supporting them to deliver quality services and ensuring they meet service targets and functional responsibilities.
  • Manage daily operations, including allocation of resources, management of incoming work, communication with staff and stakeholders, completion of reports, and auditing outputs.
  • Develop and implement effective processes and procedures to ensure efficient delivery of services.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in managing teams with decision-making functions.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, stakeholders, and victims.
  • Deep commitment to actively pursuing a culturally safe workplace and organisation and improved outcomes for Aboriginal people, aligned with the principle of self-determination.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in community services, social work, criminology, psychology, victim services, and/or family violence.
