Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Life Engagement Coordinator to join our team at Atria Senior Living, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging programs and activities that promote a high quality of life for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and lead assigned Engage Life programs, developing service plans that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
  • Activity Planning: Offer a range of recreational activities, ensuring adequate supervision and a safe environment for all participants.
  • Exercise and Fitness: Teach and lead exercises, assisting residents with the proper use of fitness equipment and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
  • Community Engagement: Develop and facilitate programs that foster social interaction and a sense of community among residents, including those who may be confined to their rooms.
  • Resident Support: Engage and motivate residents to participate in programs, making a special effort to include new residents and introduce them to others with similar interests.
  • Communication: Use the ARC Resident Orientation Program, Resident Interest Questionnaire, and Resident Interview Questionnaire to ensure a smooth transition for new residents.
  • Event Promotion: Inform residents of upcoming activities and maintain a current schedule of events on the community bulletin board.
  • Calendar Management: Prepare and publish a monthly program calendar that incorporates community events and programs, ensuring it is engaging and creative.
  • Public Relations: Engage in community public relations, collaborating with corporate public relations and preparing local positive publicity stories.
  • Departmental Support: Coordinate departmental needs and goals within department budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation.
  • Transportation: Organize community resident transportation, including scheduling of outside events and operational decisions.
  • Volunteer Management: Assist in recruiting, training, and managing volunteers, where applicable.
  • Event Planning: Assist in planning parties and activities, decorating the community according to the season and/or holiday, and planning monthly birthday parties to honor residents.
  • Facility Maintenance: Maintain activity spaces and work areas clean and organized.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred; one to two years related experience and/or training.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, with residents, staff, and vendors.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiently operate standard office equipment and effectively utilize technology, including computers, iPad/Tablet use, Word programming, internet access, email, and social media.
  • Driving Responsibilities: May require driving responsibilities, using a Company-provided vehicle and/or personal vehicle for social and other various activity and program-related outings.
  • Licensing: Must possess a valid driver's license and meet provincial commercial licensing requirements to safely operate a Community vehicle.
