Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, deploying and maintaining security solutions that protect information assets.

The successful applicant will be responsible for implementing enterprise security solutions aligned with industry frameworks such as ISO 27001 and Essential Eight. They will also design, document, implement and maintain procedures and controls to mitigate threats and meet compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement enterprise security solutions aligned with industry frameworks
  • Design, document, implement and maintain procedures and controls to mitigate threats and meet compliance requirements
  • Identify and remediate vulnerabilities across cloud and on-premise environments
  • Conduct security risk assessments for new and existing platforms, recommending improvements
  • Respond to security incidents (detect, contain, eradicate, recover, PIR analysis)
  • Develop and maintain knowledge base articles, playbooks, and security documentation
  • Provide input on security requirements for vendor contracts, RFPs and SOWs

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT, Information Security, or a related field
  • Industry certifications (e.g. CISSP, SSCP, CCSP, CEH, Microsoft Security Suite)
  • 3+ years' experience in a cyber security engineering or related role
  • Experience designing, implementing, and reviewing enterprise security solutions
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks (ISO27001, Essential Eight)
  • Skilled in assessing and managing cyber risks within enterprise environments
  • Hands-on experience with security tools (SIEM, SOAR, NDR, EDR, XDR, Microsoft suite)
  • Ability to stay updated across emerging threats and recommend proactive solutions
  • Experience conducting security risk assessments and third-party assessments
  • Strong communication skills, able to deliver security awareness training
