Accountant Role for Import Business

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team as a Financial Controller for the Import Business. This is a permanent role based in Gepps Cross with hybrid work arrangements.

The successful candidate will have a strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to communicate effectively through compelling presentations and storyboarding, and experience using financial systems in a commercial environment.

About the Role:

  • Review and investigate import business unit overhead position and maintain balance sheet integrity of import accounts.
  • Perform month-end reconciliations with clear description of outstanding items, supporting documentation, and action plan for clearance.
  • Ensure financial controls are in place and reviewed regularly to comply with accounting policies and standards.
  • Cultivate strong stakeholder relationships, proactively identify and communicate key insights, and effectively address queries.
  • Drive initiatives and strategies to continuously improve processes, demonstrating strong understanding of business needs and reporting considerations.

About You:

  • CA or CPA qualification, or working towards coupled with 2+ years relevant experience (retail/large corporate an advantage).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to synthesise large amounts of data from various sources, identifying key insights and solutions.
  • Strong experience using financial systems in a commercial environment e.g. Excel, Power Query, SAP, and SQL will be beneficial.

What We Offer:
