Principal Dam Engineer

Our team is seeking an experienced professional to lead the design and delivery of innovative solutions for water storage dam infrastructure projects.
Job OverviewThe successful candidate will provide technical leadership in the design of gates, regulating structures, outlet works, valves, fish screens and other mechanical aspects of water storage dam infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure that designs are executed according to industry standards and regulations.
- Mentor and work closely with a team to develop sustainable capability in mechanical engineering.
- Lead the delivery of quality technical solutions and successful project outcomes through effective project management and coordination.
- Collaborate with clients to identify their needs and develop tailored solutions that meet their requirements.
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and significant experience in mechanical engineering aspects of water storage dams.
- Experience at all project phases including feasibility studies, conceptual design, reference design, and detailed design.
- Minimum 15 years' experience in consulting environment in design and specification of gates, hoists, outlet works, trash racks and screens, fishways, pipe work, valves and other mechanical equipment associated with dams.
- Proven experience in risk assessments and dam safety inspections or condition assessments of hydromechanical plant.
- Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplined teams and communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
