Senior Project Planner Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned project coordinator to oversee the strategic planning and execution of diverse projects across various phases of their lifecycle.

This role requires exceptional scheduling expertise, governance awareness, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring seamless integration with contractor timelines.
  • Apply cost and resource loading; conduct 'what-if' analysis to identify potential roadblocks.
  • Review and integrate contractor schedules, fostering open communication channels.
  • Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) to track progress and report on trends.
  • Facilitate planning workshops, risk reviews, and governance reporting to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Provide accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to stakeholders.

About the Role:

  • Demonstrated experience in project planning across multiple phases, including research & development initiatives, capital works, shutdowns, commissioning, and operational projects.
  • Proven expertise in one or more areas: R&D, capital projects, shutdown planning, commissioning, and maintenance planning.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, SAP (maintenance planning & work orders), Power BI, and MS Office, with a focus on leveraging technology to enhance project delivery.
  • Skilled in stakeholder management, effective communication, and collaboration.
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, and maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Desirable: engineering qualification or accredited project controls certification, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.
