Backend Software Engineer

The Backend Software Engineer will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of our platform.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on sophisticated distributed web applications and contribute to the growth of the API Platform team.

  • We are looking for a seasoned software engineer with 10+ years of commercial experience developing complex backend systems.
  • Expertise in asynchronous or reactive programming techniques, associated patterns, and a deep understanding of computer science and engineering fundamentals is required.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of modern networking protocols and experience working in large distributed cloud environments.

A huge plus will be experience with RPC Frameworks like gRPC and a creative problem-solving approach. You will also have excellent communication and teamwork skills.

As a member of the API Platform team, you will be responsible for guiding the implementation of major projects and assisting in realistic task breakdown.

You will also provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers, helping them navigate technical challenges and facilitating collaboration across teams.

Required Skills:
  • 10+ years of commercial experience developing sophisticated distributed web applications
  • Experience with planning, executing architectural changes, and a creative problem-solving approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Facilitating collaboration across teams, and fostering a positive working relationship between stakeholders and engineers
  • Expert in asynchronous or reactive programming techniques and associated patterns
  • Deep knowledge of computer science and engineering fundamentals: concurrency, data structures, and distributed systems
  • Experience working in large distributed cloud environments (ideally AWS)
  • A huge plus will be an experience with RPC Frameworks like gRPC
