The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a skilled Aboriginal Recruitment Specialist to join their Recruitment Services Team.
About The Business Unit:The Department provides a range of government programs and services focused on improving community safety, victim services, regulatory services, crime prevention, and building strong collaboration across the justice system.
The People, Safety, Culture and Communications group supports the department in workplace culture and people matters, including strategic communications, human resource policy and strategy; organisational culture and change; recruitment and retention; performance and development; pay, benefits and workforce reporting; safety and wellbeing; workplace relations; and employee conduct.
About The Role:This role requires managing the end-to-end recruitment process, working with hiring managers to understand their recruitment needs, and ensuring target hires are achieved within the talent delivery team.
As a trusted adviser, you will guide the department through the complexities of recruiting to unique roles, contribute specialist advice on Aboriginal cultural issues, employment related policies, and legislation impacting the Victorian Aboriginal community, and be a strong advocate for the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide professional recruitment consulting services to hiring managers, candidates, and staff.
- Offer accurate and timely advice on the recruitment process, relevant policies, best practice recruitment methodologies, and legislative requirements.
- Lead the full recruitment lifecycle including job briefing, advertising, sourcing, shortlisting, interviewing, background checking, and offer management.
- Contribute specialist advice and expertise to regional stakeholders at all levels and the Recruitment Services Unit, People and Culture on Aboriginal cultural issues, employment related policies, and legislation that impact on the Victorian Aboriginal community.
