Insurance Operations Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Operations Specialist to join our Australia and New Zealand Operations team in Sydney. This role will be responsible for operational matters related to designated authority business, including data integrity, operational processes, compliance, and functionality of all BHSI's Programs products.
Key Responsibilities- Operational oversight of commercial schemes and programs, from vetting and due diligence to onboarding and monitoring of data and payment reconciliations.
- Manage monthly premium bordereaux process from program administrators, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant data receipt.
- Ensure policy forms comply with BHSI's standard format.
- Monitor policy transactions to ensure individual transactions meet BHSI and regulatory requirements, accurately and timely reported in BHSI's corporate financials.
- Transactional payments must align with contractual obligations; oversee unreconciled payments or non-payment situations with third-party Program Administrators.
- Engage with underwriters and Programs teams during vetting and onboarding of new programs.
- Develop and foster relationships with Program Administrators.
- Collaborate with Operations and Legal Departments to establish operational and compliance standards.
- Work with IT and global Operations teams on policy administration system requirements and testing for Commercial Program business.
- Minimum 3-5 years Property and/or Casualty liability insurance experience.
- In-depth understanding of policy construction, regulatory requirements, rating, and policy issuance.
- Desire to learn key aspects of insurance company operations supporting Program business, working with Actuarial, Legal, Claims, IT, and Operations departments.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate proactively with management levels and underwriting disciplines globally.
- Independently manage projects.
- Support and build workflow and process.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel and Word skills.
- Proven attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- A competitive salary range of AU$80,000 - AU$120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
