
Sales Expert for Energy

This position focuses on the Energy & Resources industry, particularly in Mining and Utilities. The ideal candidate will navigate a geographic territory, working closely with major installed-based customers as well as greenfield prospects.
To succeed, you must have experience navigating complex sales cycles from start to finish, leveraging internal resources within the larger sales organization, and collaborating cross-functionally with the Customer Success team and externally across customer and partner ecosystems.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Develop top of funnel marketing activities and prospecting strategies while managing complex sales cycles with Enterprise accounts (approximately 6-12 months) to a successful close.
- Demonstrate strong presentation skills for delivering in-person and virtual presentations to senior LOB & IT audiences, highlighting your ability to perform client discovery, communicate ROI, and build business value.
- Align customer goals and KPIs with the Appian value proposition, helping customers accelerate their objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to both customers and colleagues, leveraging multiple stakeholders throughout complex deals.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends to help position against competitors.
- Operate with urgency, diligence, and determination within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Required Qualifications:
- 10 -15+ years of direct selling experience and a minimum of 5 years Energy & Resources experience as an Enterprise Account Executive, selling complex technologies at the enterprise level to customers into those industries.
- A history of consistent quota achievement.
- Examples of landing relevant new customer logos.
- A strong industry network within customer and partner base.
