Peer Support Specialist

My People Solutions Recruitment is seeking a Peer Support Worker to join our team. As a Registered NDIS Provider, we are committed to providing high-quality support services to individuals with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide peer support and capacity building services to individuals with trauma, mental health, autism, ADHD, anxiety, and depression in a criminal justice environment.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized support plans.
- Conduct assessments and develop strategies to support individuals in achieving their goals and improving their overall well-being.
- Provide education and training to individuals and their support networks on trauma-informed care and mental health support.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and service providers to ensure seamless support services.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a similar role in the criminal justice system and with clients with complex needs.
- Understanding of the requirements of individuals with psychosocial and mental health disabilities and awareness of care provision issues in a forensic environment.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, NDIS Induction and Orientation Modules, Police Check, Working with Children Check, Vaccinations, CPR, and First Aid certification.
- Driving License and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Cert III Individual Supports, Cert IV Disability and/or Mental Health Care Qualification, Allied Health Assistant, Welfare, or equivalent qualification.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary care team and establish connections with diverse clients.
