Job Description">

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance crew. As part of this team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of heavy mining equipment and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and inspections on a wide range of fixed and mobile plant equipment.
  • Conduct preventative and breakdown maintenance in accordance with site procedures and schedules.
  • Fault find, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Work collaboratively with other trades and production teams to minimize downtime and enhance equipment reliability.
Required Skills and Qualifications

• Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter (Cert III Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent)

• Experience in a coal mining or heavy industrial environment

• Proficient with fault-finding and troubleshooting large fixed plant and mobile equipment

• Knowledge of maintenance procedures for conveyor systems, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, and bearings

• Current coal board medical and Standard 11 certification

• Strong safety focus and proactive approach to risk management

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently
