Pediatric Injury Reduction Specialist Opportunity

The George Institute for Global Health is seeking a full-time PhD candidate to undertake research on evidence-based trauma care for children and youth in New South Wales. The research program will involve three phases of research, including co-development, testing, and refining an intervention to address variations in splenic injury care and its behavioral drivers.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct mixed-methods research to generate evidence for sustained change in practice required to reduce variation of care for children and youth with splenic injury across the health system.
- Work autonomously and be self-directed in learning, contributing to team activities and discussions.
- Candidates must have strong interest in pediatric trauma care, public health, and implementation science applied to health systems.
- A relevant first or second-class Honours degree or Masters degree with a substantial research component and/or equivalent research experience.
- Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens, or Australian permanent residents are eligible to apply.
- Supported to apply for an Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney.
- Top-Up Scholarship of AUD10,000 per annum available to the successful candidate contingent on successful award of the UNSW RTP scholarship.
