Steel Fabrication Team Leader

A leading steel fabricator in Brisbane is seeking a team leader to lead a small team of detailers and facilitate an impressive growth plan.

The role involves managing the team, subcontractors, and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience with Tekla structures software, advanced knowledge of steel manufacturing and fabrication, and expert knowledge of structural steel design and its implications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing team and subcontractors
  • Completing modelling and checking drawings using Tekla
  • Ensuring project managers are informed of changes to minimize commercial exposure and maximize profitability
  • Working with the estimating team to consider all possible variations for pricing projects
  • Production coordination and planning
  • Conducting site measures for custom-made elements
  • Interpreting architectural, engineering, hydraulic, and civil plans
  • Liaising with customers, designers, architects, engineers, and interfacing trades

Requirements:

  • 10 years' experience working within a drafting office
  • Team leadership experience (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of building codes
  • Excellent communication skills
