Key Responsibilities:
  • Operation Management: Lead and manage day-to-day operations, including planning, scheduling, and job allocation, ensuring smooth service delivery.
  • People Management: Supervise, coach, and mentor the service team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous development.
  • Coordination & Scheduling: Manage and coordinate service requests, scheduling repairs and maintenance for drilling equipment in a timely manner.
  • Customer Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing their service needs and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Stock Management: Track and maintain inventory levels of spare parts, ensuring availability and timely procurement.
  • Administrative Tasks: Handle both computerised and manual administrative duties, including logging and tracking service requests, ongoing work, and completed jobs.
  • Trend Analysis: Analyse service data to understand trends and demands for parts and technician skills, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Hybrid Role: Balance 'on the tools' technical work with office-based responsibilities, supporting both technical and managerial tasks.
  • Technical Oversight: Manage a team responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining drilling and hydraulic equipment across Australia and the Pacific region.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Service Manager (or equivalent) in construction, field services, or related industries.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop and maintain internal and external relationships built on respect and trust.
  • Change Management: Experience in driving change and aligning team performance with broader business objectives.
  • Resilience: Strong resilience, tenacity, and accountability to ensure teams consistently meet both short and long-term goals.
  • Talent Management: Ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent, with a focus on succession planning and team coaching.
  • Technical Understanding: Basic understanding of drilling equipment and service requirements is a plus.
  • Fitness for the role: This role incorporates manual tasks from time to time and applicants must be physically fit and free from injury to ensure safety for all parties.
  • Residency: This role is only open to those with full working rights in Australia / permanent residency.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Team Management: Oversee technicians in diagnosing and repairing equipment, including hydraulic, electric, and mechanical systems.
  • Safety & Documentation: Maintain safety standards and ensure proper documentation is completed.
  • Customer Support: Support customer troubleshooting both on-site and remotely.
  • Travel & Overtime: Manage travel and overtime requirements as necessary.
