Role Summary: Centre Cook

The Centre Cook is responsible for preparing delicious meals and influencing the nutritional outcomes of children in a childcare setting. This role involves creativity, organisational skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cooking and Meal Preparation: Prepare healthy and nutritious meals that meet the dietary requirements of children. Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
  • Maintenance of Kitchen Facilities: Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of kitchen facilities, including equipment and storage areas.
  • Inventory Management: Manage food supplies and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other centre staff to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
Requirements:
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery: Possess a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification. Alternatively, have relevant experience cooking in a childcare setting.
  • Working with Children Check: Hold a valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card) from the Queensland Government.
