Job Description

A Radiographer plays a vital role in delivering exceptional clinical care, working within their scope of training and expertise.

We collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide a strong service focused on patient-centred care and development.

Radiographers participate in ongoing improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and outcomes, and we actively support research and innovative clinical practice models.

The medical imaging department is well-equipped and offers a wide range of services including general X-ray, theatre imaging, CT, and ultrasound.

The department operates seven days a week from 8:00 am to midnight, with overnight on-call coverage, seeing diverse presentations and offering a dynamic and inclusive work environment.

Staff benefit from mobility opportunities across the wider Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, from tertiary referral centres to regional sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing imaging technologies to aid in diagnosing and treating patients.
  • Collaborating with healthcare teams for effective patient care.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting equipment performance.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Medical Radiation Science-Diagnostic or equivalent qualification.
  • Current/provisional AHPRA registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPB).
  • Holds current EPA IA14Y Radiation Licence.
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting, including areas such as theatre, CT, mobile, and trauma radiography.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of work, health, and safety in a radiology context.
