Key Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery: Manage the construction process to time and budget requirements, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • Resource Coordination: Coordinate project resources, team members, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Contract Management: Coordinate and manage appointed external construction contractor teams, ensuring compliance with contracts and agreements.
  • Tender Coordination: Coordinate and review services, trade, and joinery package tenders to ensure best value for David Jones.
  • Brand Partner Integration: Coordinate brand partner fit-outs to ensure seamless integration with David Jones' brand standards.
  • Risk Management: Review construction programs and assess/highlight potential risks to ensure project success.
  • Design Review: Review base build, architectural, coordinated services, and lease plan drawings to ensure compliance with David Jones' design standards.
  • Project Proposal Development: Produce and/or contribute to detailed project proposals that allow an informed project approval decision to be made.
  • Project Reporting: Manage project reports to ensure timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in Construction Management, Building, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience: Onsite construction PM experience with exposure to big box retail/retail/hospitality is ideal.
  • Commercial Acumen: Proven commercial and financial acumen ensuring projects are delivered to budget.
  • Contract Management: Experience with contract management (AS), contract negotiations, claim, and cost management.
  • Project Leadership: Led a number of large-scale projects end-to-end valued between $10M-$20M.
  • Team Leadership: Exposure leading internal and external consultant teams.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to collaborate with and influence diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Technical Skills: Operational experience of PM software including Aconex, Microsoft Projects, and Excel.
