Ocean freight transportation specialists play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods across borders.

We are seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Import Transport Specialist to join our team at Brisbane Station.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and schedule local and interstate freight movements via road, rail, or intermodal transport

• Liaise with carriers and warehouse teams to manage daily transport tasks efficiently

• Monitor transport jobs through TMS (Transport Management System) to ensure timely delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements

• Maintain accurate records of shipments, clearance statuses, and delivery statuses for seamless tracking

• Communicate effectively with customers regarding ETAs, delays, and special instructions to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction

• Ensure adherence to Chain of Responsibility (CoR), NHVR, and WHS regulations to guarantee a safe working environment

• Resolve transport-related issues promptly and professionally to minimize disruptions

Key Accountabilities:

• Achieve on-time delivery performance targets while minimizing costs and optimizing resources

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date transport documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

• Implement processes that meet safety, legal, and compliance standards to ensure operational excellence

• Foster strong relationships with customers and suppliers to drive business growth and development

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in transport processes to enhance efficiency and productivity

• Embody company values, operational KPIs, and service-level agreements (SLAs) to maintain high standards of professionalism

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Minimum 3 years' experience in freight forwarding/logistics, preferably in a similar role

• Certifications in Customs, Dangerous Goods, and Air Cargo Security to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

• Proficiency in Cargowise and other relevant software applications

• Strong communication, analytical, and commercial negotiation skills to build effective relationships with stakeholders

• High attention to detail and proactive work ethic to deliver results under pressure

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively
