Medical Laboratory Specialist Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Medical Laboratory Specialist to contribute to our high-performing team at Gosford Hospital.

This role involves performing a range of laboratory investigations and tests, applying established methods and procedures. Duties may include undertaking other laboratory tasks, such as preparation of materials and maintenance of equipment in line with laboratory protocols.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to deliver quality pathology results and support patient care and clinical outcomes. They will be able to work responsibly and efficiently, managing competing priorities to meet deadlines.

Key Requirements

  • A minimum qualification of Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution relevant to pathology or medical laboratory operations.
  • Knowledge and experience in delivering pathology services within a relevant discipline, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems, and Quality Systems.
  • Customer-focused approach with good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve issues in the laboratory environment.
  • Commitment to quality management and continuous improvement activities.
