Stand-Alone Payroll Officer

The successful candidate will have end-to-end responsibility for managing payroll processes for a large employee base, ensuring accuracy of payroll and timekeeping systems, and providing support to various teams as needed.
A strong understanding of multi-state payroll requirements, awards, legislation, and taxation is essential for this role.
We are seeking a highly experienced professional with 5+ years' experience managing end-to-end payroll and leading the payroll department for 300+ employees.
Key skills and qualifications include:
- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
- Solid knowledge of multi-state payroll requirements, awards, legislation, and taxation
- Confidence in auditing and managing payroll and timekeeping systems
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with HR, Finance, and other teams
A proactive mindset with a passion for process improvement is also highly desirable for this role.
