Job Summary:

We are seeking a Child Development Specialist to join our team in Mackay. As a Child Development Specialist, you will provide intensive family support tailored to the needs of children, young people, and their families.

Main Responsibilities:

  • You will implement evidence-based interventions, including parenting strategies and practical life skills coaching.
  • You will support families to access community resources, education, and employment pathways.
  • You will conduct home visits and engage in early intervention strategies to improve safety and wellbeing outcomes.
  • You will work alongside stakeholders to deliver wrap-around support.
  • You will complete documentation and case notes in line with legislative and organisational requirements.

Key Requirements:

  • You must hold a Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check or be willing and eligible to obtain prior to commencement.
  • You must be available to work across a full shift pattern (mornings, evenings and sleepovers).
  • You must have a valid Drivers Licence and access to a vehicle.
  • You must have attained or be working towards a relevant Bachelor's Degree, Diploma or Certificate IV (Community Services, Youth/Social Work, etc.).
  • You must have experience working with young people/children.
  • You must have experience working in related fields, i.e. Family Support, Child Safety, family development and other Family related roles.
