We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Finance Partner to join our team at CommBank. As a key member of our Finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Retail Banking Services (RBS) business unit and other business units to achieve their goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide financial information and business advice to support our business units to build sustainable shareholder value.
  • Support the RBS CFO in delivering key strategic initiatives and ensuring the successful execution of business plans.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with Finance and Non-Finance stakeholders, including RBS Finance Teams, M&A, Treasury, Group Finance, Group Accounting Policy, RBS Strategy, and RBS Risk Management.
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality financial reports and analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements and optimize business performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to drive business growth and improvement.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field (e.g., CA/CPA).
  • Previous experience in a finance and accounting function, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Advanced data gathering and reporting skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with senior leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing and executing strategic initiatives that have delivered tangible benefits for the organization and its customers.
  • Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and knowledge of performance drivers across the RBS business.
  • Previous experience in the research and preparation of executive papers, presentations, and associated collateral for a broad audience.
  • A risk mindset, with the ability to proactively identify and understand risks, and take action to mitigate them.
