As a Senior Intensive Care Unit Pharmacist, you will lead the 7-day clinical pharmacy and quality use of medicines services within the Intensive Care Unit.

Provide expert guidance and advice to pharmacists and other healthcare professionals providing clinical services in the Intensive Care Unit.

Lead education and training of clinical pharmacists working in the Intensive Care Unit to facilitate 7 day per week service delivery.

Participate in clinical pharmacy services provision including the general roster as required.

Lead relevant research and quality use of medicines initiatives, presenting at professional conferences and publication in relevant journals.

Collaborate with senior clinicians in the Intensive Care Unit in the ongoing management of critical care patients.

Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualifications in either Diploma of Hospital Pharmacy, Diploma of Clinical Pharmacy or any other relevant postgraduate qualifications.
  • Current registration as a pharmacist with the relevant authority with no conditions or restrictions on practice.
  • Extensive relevant hospital experience.
Key Skills
  • Advanced-level clinical practice in intensive care pharmacy.
  • Ability to contribute to multidisciplinary decision-making in managing complex critically ill patients.
  • Initiate, lead, maintain and share quality improvement and research activities.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, prioritising tasks and managing high-pressure workloads.

They will be skilled in applying advanced clinical reasoning and exercising independent professional judgement.

They will also have demonstrated ability to supervise other pharmacy staff and participate in teaching programs.

Additional Information

This is a Category A position which requires immunisation and screening for certain diseases.
