Operations Coordinator

About the Role:

This is a critical role that requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to manage daily freight movements. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and allocating daily outbound shipments to retail stores across QLD.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and execute daily load and route plans using internal transport management systems.
  • Direct and monitor independent contractors to ensure schedules, utilization, and compliance are met.
  • Maintain accurate and timely data entry of live freight movements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any delays or delivery issues in real time.
  • Monitor daily utilization, cost estimates, and service completion metrics.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders and contractors to ensure seamless operations.
  • Support driver compliance in line with fatigue and safety obligations.
  • Be available after hours for unresolved routes when required.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years' experience in a similar allocator or transport coordination role.
  • Strong knowledge of QLD geography and freight scheduling.
  • Background in 3PL, transport, or logistics environments is highly regarded.
  • Competent with Excel and data entry across multiple systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure, problem-solve, and prioritize.
  • Understanding of Chain of Responsibility and Fatigue Management (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong communication skills for contractor and stakeholder liaison.
