Day Electrician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Day Electrician to join our team. As a Day Electrician, you will be responsible for performing ongoing maintenance of machinery, breakdown repairs to equipment and services on site to assist in meeting or exceeding site objectives.

The ideal candidate will have trade qualification - Electrical Mechanic Licence or equivalent, experience with PLC, Variable Speed Drive and Instrumentation and previous experience in a similar role within a high-speed manufacturing environment.

About the Role
  • Conduct preventative maintenance according to Maintenance strategy
  • Respond to machine breakdowns and take corrective action promptly
  • Troubleshoot machines and equipment by making an assessment of a particular problem and estimating duration of time to repair
  • Install, disassemble, assess, repair and reassemble machines, equipment and components
  • Connect services where required
  • Assist in the training and knowledge transfer to new starters and existing team
  • Liaise with relevant personnel to ensure that all activities are conducted accurately and where problems arise, they are resolved promptly.
  • Complete project improvement works
About You
  • Trade Qualification - Electrical Mechanic Licence or equivalent
  • PLC, Variable Speed Drive and Instrumentation experience
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a high-speed manufacturing environment
  • Previous maintenance experience (preventative and corrective)
  • Strong problem-solving ability to troubleshoot control systems, processes and mechanical faults on equipment
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, health and the environment
