Our client is a leader in the industry providing comprehensive maintenance and reactive services to large commercial, industrial and manufacturing food and beverage equipment across Australia. Due to growth, we are seeking an Electrical Field Service Technician to join their team in Cairns to conduct service and maintenance on equipment across the region, whilst developing and building relationships with customers.

The role :

  • Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment at customer's premises, involving troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
  • Perform installation and commissioning of equipment under the guidance of project management.
  • Complete all required paperwork neatly and accurately to ensure timely invoicing and payment from customers.
  • Provide basic technical coaching to service technicians and give feedback throughout the process.
  • Follow all on-site procedures and customer policies.
  • Take ownership of tasks and use initiative to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Minimize stock losses through proper stock take procedures.
  • Build and foster relationships with internal and external customers.

What we're looking for :

  • Full Electrical License
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Extensive fault finding experience
  • Service work and/or industrial experience
  • Availability for on-call work (nights, weekends, public holidays) on a rostered basis
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to use PDA (handheld computer)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proactive approach in all aspects of work
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Highly motivated self-starter
