Design Assistant Job Description

The role of a Design Assistant is to provide support to the design team in the creation and development of fashion products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform specific design briefs by researching, preparing boards, and arranging samples.
  • Re-colouring, re-scaling, and amending prints using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Designing on-brand print artwork and adapting original artwork as needed.
  • Follow up activity internally and externally to ensure critical path deadlines are achieved.
  • Support the Designer in preparation of material for design meetings.
  • Prepare spec packs for suppliers and liaise with key dedicated contacts.
  • Provide administration support to the designers.
  • Compile and manage Style/Fabric Tracker per month.
  • Approving designs under the guidance of Designers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in fashion design or related field.
  • Working experience or prior internship experience in fashion design business.
  • A portfolio with style aligned to brand identity.
  • Tech savvy with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Competent in compiling CAD line-sheets and designing simple print artwork.
