Job Overview:

Access Arts empowers people with disabilities or disadvantages to participate and excel in the arts. We deliver programs across all art forms, supporting a Queensland where everyone is free to engage, create, and work in the arts.

This role supports Access Art's programs that meet the needs and artistic aspirations of our clients. The successful candidate will coordinate resources, staff, projects, and programs under the supervision of an Arts Manager and support clients in their artistic development.

About the Position:
  • Leading and assisting in delivering artistic and creative workshops that align with clients' individual goals and aspirations.
  • Supporting clients in achieving a valued lifestyle within the community by ensuring access to suitable artistic opportunities.
  • Ensuring workshops and programs are well-resourced in collaboration with the manager.
  • Serving as the primary contact for clients and staff.
  • Participating in recruiting, selecting, and matching staff to clients, in coordination with management and client needs.
  • Facilitating ongoing opportunities for clients to develop their skills, interests, and talents within the programs.
  • Engaging with community groups, organisations, and individuals to encourage clients' active community participation, with oversight from the manager.
  • Providing timely information, reporting, and updates as required.
  • Leading regular staff and client meetings, providing a point of reference for problem-solving when needed.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor of Performing Arts (or equivalent) or substantial experience in arts practice.
  • Ability to deliver or assist in delivering arts-based workshops to groups of people who experience disability, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate effectively with clients, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently to achieve program goals and deliver results.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills around disability awareness.
