About the Role

SOS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Client Engagement Officer to join our client's team in Canberra. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for assessing complex client needs, determining eligibility for housing, and delivering front-line client services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Engagement: Engage and build rapport with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Needs Assessment: Undertake assessments of applications for housing assistance in accordance with the principles of client-centred service delivery.
  • Resource Allocation: Match resources to client's needs and circumstances.
  • Policy Application: Apply legislation and policy within a human services environment.
  • Client Support: Provide clients with timely information and referrals.
  • Documentation: Prepare written material related to assessments, resource allocation, decision making, and other government requirements.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain sound record-keeping practices.
  • Team Collaboration: Work within and support the work of a small team.
  • Representation: Represent the department in a range of government and community forums.
Requirements
  • Current Driver's Licence: A current driver's licence is required for this role.
  • Working with Vulnerable People Check: Prior to commencing in this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 will be required.
  • Experience: Experience in client services and administration is essential.
  • IT Skills: Experience in using a range of IT business and office applications is required.
  • Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Community Development, or a related field are preferred.
